So far, teaching calendar and weather concepts through the Smartboard have been going well. I am finding that students are engaged in learning. As I am using technology, I am also beginning to see students becoming less interested in the use of the Smartboard. I am finding more and more that a combination of the Smartboard and hands-on material work more successfully.
For our weather, I've been allowing students to use the Smartboard to dress the character in the appropriate clothing but also having our weather reporter physically look out the window to let us know what the weather is like. This combination and addition of more physically interactive methods seems to engage students in a better way.
